Star Wars: Rise of the Empire

Star Wars: Rise of the Empire, coming October 6, 2015, will featured Star Wars: Tarkin and Star Wars: A New Dawn, along with three Star Wars short stories that connect these two novels.  Visit StarWars.com, for more information.

Star Wars: Tarkin was released November 4, 2014, and it was written by James Luceno (Darth Plagueis).  This novel takes place five years after the rise of the Emperor.  In that time period, Moff Tarkin is tasked with overseeing the construction of the mobile space station, however, the novel goes in depth into Tarkin's back story, before his rise to Moff.

Star Wars: A New Dawn was released  September 2, 2014, and it was written by John Jackson Miller (Kenobi: Star Wars).  This novel was the first of the new Star Wars cannon, and it features the back story of Kanan Jarrus and Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels.
