Frank Oz Returns to Star Wars

TV Guide reported today that the legendary Frank Oz will be returning to the galaxy far far away.  Oz will reprise his role as Yoda for the "Path of the Jedi" episode of Star Wars Rebels which will debut on Disney XD on January 5, 2015. The episode will be available on the Watch Disney XD app a week earlier, on December 29, 2014.

Oz was the man behind the Yoda puppet and provided Yoda'a voice in The Empire Strikes Back, The Return of the Jedi, and The Phantom Menace.  He also voiced the digital version of Yoda for Attack of the Clone and Revenge of the Sith.  When the Star Wars movies were finally released on Blu-ray, the puppet in The Phantom Menace was replaced by a digital Yoda.

Oz is also widely known for his work with Jim Henson on the Muppets.  He voiced some of the most popular characters for many years, including Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Animal, Sam the Eagle, Bert, Grover and Cookie Monster.

Oz's return means that Tom Kane will not be providing the voice for Yoda, something he has been doing regularly since 2000 in various video games and both Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
